A marvelous sea

The sea dephs of Soverato is one of the finest of all the Ionian sea.
The Soverato Bay is placed nerly at the center of the wide Squillace Gulf. A few ten meters from the shore the depth is deep. This way it becomes a small cove where Hippocampi harbour and reproduct themselves.

The Hippocampus, known and loved with the name of "Sea Horse", is often mentioned in Greek literature as a simble of loyalty. According to experts opinion, the presence of Hippocampi proves the existence of a marine environment that has not been harmed, under an ecological point of view.

Long golden beaches alternate with intimate creeks made of sand and rock, high reefs dive into an alwayslinpid sea like in few other places in Italy. The natural beauties, unique, with unusual landscapes, towns and cities of a land where everything is history, tradition and color.

The tortuous and irregular outlines of the Ionian coast flow into the wide beaches of sand, but also into a sequence of cliffs and headlands, washed by one of the most beautifull seas in Italy.




The sea of Soverato is one of the most beautifull of the whole Ionian Sea and is certenly a natural resource to emphasize and to protect.
